Questions we hear most
If yours isn't here, call or send a message. Please leave out medical details.
Do you take my insurance?
We file claims with PPO and indemnity dental plans. We aren't in network with DHMO plans, and we don't take Medicaid or CHIP. Whether we are in your plan's network depends on the plan, so Robin checks it before your visit and tells you what the plan says it covers.
What if I don't have insurance, or mine has run out?
You pay the fee for your visit, or join the yearly membership for routine care. It is not insurance, runs 12 months, can be cancelled before it renews and is refunded in full within 30 days if unused. Either way you get any other fee in writing before treatment.
Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
No. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.
Will it hurt?
Most people feel pressure and some tenderness. We numb the area when it's needed, you can ask for a break any time, and we stop whenever you ask.
How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?
Dr. Urbina decides from your checkup and your history. She tells you why before she takes X-rays.
What is a deep cleaning?
A longer cleaning of the tooth roots under the gums, usually over two visits, for gums that have pulled away. She will show you why she suggests it.
Do you see children?
Yes, from about age three. If your child is younger or nervous, call first so we can plan the visit. You stay with them throughout.
What counts as a dental emergency?
A broken or knocked-out tooth, a swelling or a toothache that won't ease. Call us. For trouble breathing or swallowing, call 911.
Do you offer sedation, and who gives it?
We use local numbing only. If you want sedation, we refer you to a dentist who is permitted to give it.
Can I get a written estimate before treatment?
Yes. You get one before any treatment, and nothing starts until you say yes.
Do you speak Spanish?
Dr. Urbina and Itzel Baez speak Spanish, at the chair and at the front desk.
How do I change or cancel a visit?
Call or text us as early as you can. We hold your time, so the sooner we know, the sooner we can offer it to someone else.
