Children's visits
Dr. Urbina sees children as well as adults, so a family can come to one office. A child's first visit is mostly looking, talking and counting teeth. It is for families who want a general dentist for everyone.
What happens
Plan on one visit of about 30 to 45 minutes.
- 01
Step 1: Say hello
Your child meets the team and sees the room. You stay with them throughout.
- 02
Step 2: Count and look
Dr. Urbina counts the teeth and looks at them and the gums, and shows your child each tool.
- 03
Step 3: A cleaning
Danita cleans your child's teeth. If your child isn't ready, we stop and try another day.
- 04
Step 4: Talk with you
She tells you what she saw, and what to watch for at home.
Comfort, choices and care
Comfort
We go at your child's pace, explain before we touch, and stop when your child asks. For a very young or nervous child, call first so we can plan the visit.
If you wait
Small problems in baby teeth can grow and hurt. Dr. Urbina will tell you when a tooth needs care and when it can be watched.
Risks and after-care
Teeth can feel tender after a cleaning. Brushing and flossing at home matter most between visits, and she shows your child how.
How it's billed
Children's visits are billed to your plan first. We tell you your share before the visit. We don't take Medicaid or CHIP. Without insurance you can pay per visit.

What if my child is scared?
